We will be tracking rain and thunderstorms--some of them strong--on Tuesday afternoon.

All of ABC13's viewing area (Roanoke, Lynchburg, Nelson, Danville/Southside) has storm chances.

A line or broken line of thunderstorms will move from West to East across Virginia on Tuesday afternoon.

A few showers and thunderstorms could develop before lunch. The most active time is between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. A few storms will linger after that time as well.

The exact timing is uncertain, as the first storms' development will impact where additional storms will fire up.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch could be issued.

Severe Thunderstorm Warnings will be issued for the strongest storms due to wind and hail.
