LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — Rain Friday morning may hinder us from reaching our full heat potential, but it will be warming quickly once that rain clears in the late morning to early afternoon.
Highs today will likely be between 89 and 96 degrees across the region. This is paired with very high humidity, making it feel 10 degrees hotter at any point this afternoon.
Storm chances stick around this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon. Not expecting widespread storms, but an isolated warning is not out of the question.
Saturday will remain hot, in the low 90s. Humidity will stick around. Sunday, we start a cooler stretch—temperatures in the upper 70s and low 80s for Sunday through the beginning of next week.
Rain chances next week will be higher, especially on Monday and Tuesday.
Beyond the 7-day forecast, we will likely see temperatures return to "normal." The normal high for Lynchburg this time of year is 85, normal low is 63.
