Rachel Tillapaugh

Rachel Tillapaugh joined ABC 13 as a Multimedia Journalist in September 2023.

Previously she served as an intern at WSET from January through July 2023. During this time of intense learning, her interest in Journalism grew into a passion and commitment for the WSET team and Lynchburg community.

She will graduate from Liberty University in December 2023 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication and Journalism.

Rachel was born and raised in Southeast (Plymouth), MI. From earliest childhood, she has been curious about and interested in others. Her favorite question always has been “Why?”

Her fascination with how things work and why they happen will be incorporated into her stories about Lynchburg and Central Virginia. The beauty of the Hill City and the warmth of the people here have persuaded Rachel to call this area "home."

Her interests include hiking, discovering new recipes, and reading historical fiction.
