You've seen Danner Evans anchoring every newscast here at ABC 13 News over the years -- from first thing in the morning to 13 News at 11. Currently, she anchors evenings at 5, 5:30, and 6.

Danner came to WSET as a weekend anchor over a decade ago and then moved to early mornings on GMV and 13 News Midday.

She took a three-year vacation from the Heart of Virginia to sit in the main anchor seat every night on WMBF News in Myrtle Beach. Danner launched the first all HD digital station built from the ground up.

Danner recently won Best TV Anchor from the Virginias Associated Press in 2022. She also won a regional Edward R. Murrow for continuing coverage of the Virginia Parole Board in 2022. In the past she' she's also been recognized for Outstanding Effort by an Individual Reporter at a Large Market Television Station. The Virginia Association of Broadcasters named her story on a little boy fighting cancer named Nathan Norman Best Human Interest Series. She also won awards from the South Carolina Associated Press for both medical and education reporting.

Danner's most treasured reward is being mommy to her three children -- Luke, Mac, and Dabney.

In her spare time, she's fishing Virginia's rivers with family, skiing, or pounding the pavement running. Danner has finished the Virginia 10 Miler several times, The Myrtle Beach Half Marathon and The New York Marathon.

Although Danner grew up in Wichita, Kansas, and cheers for her alma mater, the KU Jayhawks, she married a Lynchburg boy and Virginia really is her home now.
