Police: 29-year-old man killed in motorcycle crash on Concord Turnpike


    LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- One person is dead after a motorcycle crash in Lynchburg.

    According to the Lychburg Police Department, the crash happened on Wednesday around 6:47 p.m. in the 2300 block of the Concord Turnpike.

    Police say a woman was driving east on Concord Turnpike when she met a motorcycle westbound in the curve.

    They said 29-year-old Jonathan Lindsay, on the motorcycle, veered into the eastbound lane where he collided with the woman.

    Members of the Lynchburg Fire and EMS Department, along with members of the Lynchburg Police Department Field Operations and Traffic Safety Unit responded to the crash.

    Authorities say that despite medical staff intervention, Lindsay succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

    The road was closed for approximately three hours while Traffic Safety Unit officers investigated the incident.

    This crash remains under investigation by the Lynchburg Traffic Safety Unit at this time.
