Radford advances in NCAA tournament, taking on Villanova Thursday
DAYTON, Ohio (WSET) -- Radford University won its first NCAA Tournament game in school history Tuesday, defeating LIU Brooklyn 71-61 in the "First Four" in Dayton, Ohio.
With the win over the Blackbirds, Radford advances to face the number 1 seed in the East, Villanova.
That game is set for 6:50 Thursday night at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh. The Highlanders extend their win streak to 8.
Radford improves to 23-and-12 on the season, setting a new single-season school record with win number 23.
The Highlanders take on Villanova at 6:50, the game will be broadcast on TNT.
After that matchup, Virginia Tech and Alabama will follow at approximately 9:20 on the same court.
This season is the 20th anniversary of Radford’s first NCAA Tournament appearance.
