Mendenhall grades UVa's Week 2 performance

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WSET) - Virginia plays host to 1-and-0 Connecticut this Saturday, the Huskies' game with South Florida Saturday was cancelled due to Hurricane Irma.

Virginia head coach Bronco Mendenhall says the Cavaliers actually played at a higher level offensively and defensively in Saturday's loss to Indiana than in their opening win over William & Mary. Not so in the kicking game, especially the punt team. Defensively, Mendenhall says the team's execution is improving a lot.

Bronco Mendenhall, VIRGINIA HEAD COACH, said "I saw a significant step forward in that regard. And offensively, I actually saw more consistency but we're still lacking the run game efficiency and the connection of big plays through the air."
