Lynchburg women defeat Randolph 80-54
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) - The University of Lynchburg women pulled away from cross-town rival Randolph in the third period en route to an 80-54 win in ODAC action Wednesday night.
Freshman guard Lizzie Davis scored a career-high 15 points to go with five rebounds and three assists, leading five Hornets in double figures.
Senior forward Molly Shephard posted 12 points and 12 rebounds , her fifth double-double of the season, with senior Alex Allen and sophomore Carolyn Noe also adding 12 points apiece.
Sophomore guard Maggie Quarles out of Lord Botetourt scored 11 points for Lynchburg.
Randolph's DJ Jackson led all scorers with 20 points, she added six rebounds.
With the win, Lynchburg improves to 4-and-5 overall, 3-and-1 in the ODAC, while Randolph drops to 3-and-6, 1-and-2 in the ODAC.
