Lynchburg beats Methodist 12-8 in college baseball

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) - Senior outfielder Brad Hylton went 3-for-4 and drove in five runs to help lead Lynchburg to a 12-8 win over number 20 Methodist in college baseball Tuesday afternoon in Lynchburg.

The Hornets put an end to the Monarchs' nine-game win streak.

Hylton, a former Tunstall standout, clubbed a pair of two-run doubles in his five-rbi effort. Senior first baseman Matt Ward also had three hits for the Hornets.

Lynchburg pitching didn't yield an earned run on the day, but fielding miscues allowed the Monarchs to get back in the game late.

Freshman right-hander Michael Reiskind (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) earned the win on the mound with 3 ? innings of shutout relief work.

Lynchburg improves to 5-and-2 on the season with the win, Methodist drops to 10-and-2.
