Liberty beats Charleston Southern 70-53 to improve to 10-and-5
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) - The Liberty Flames evened their Big South record at 1 with a 17-point win, 70-53, over Charleston Southern Tuesday night in the Vines Center.
Georgia Pacheco-Ortiz was lights out behind the arc, draining a career-high 7-of-8 3-pointers en route to a game-high 27 points.
Scottie James also a big night for the Flames, dropping in 14 points and grabbing a career-best 15 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season.
Liberty led by just five at the half, the Buccaneers cut it to 1 early second half.
But LU then went on an 11-0 run to take control.
Flames win 70-53, they improve to 10-and-5 overall and will host Presbyterian this Saturday at 4 in the Vines Center.
The Liberty women also won, beating Presbyterian on the road 76-64. Two other Big South women scores, Radford defeated Winthrop 78-52 while Charleston Southern won at home over Longwood 73-57.
