Massie makes cut at VSGA Jr. Match Play Championship
HARRISONBURG, Va. (WSET) - Despite a drastic cut from 67 players to just 16, Lynchburg's Jimmie Massie kept his cool, and advanced to the match play rounds of the tournament.
The E.C. Glass and Boonsboro C.C. golfer shot a 1 over 73 on the day, finishing the 2 day qualifying rounds with a total of 139, good enough for 5-under for tournament. The score puts him just 2 in back of the leader, Connor Johnson Jr. of Richmond.
Massie now advances to Match Play, earning the 6 seed. Massie will face Jack Sweeney on Thursday morning, teeing off at approximately 8:40am.
