E.C. Glass boys beat Jefferson Forest for Region 4D Championship

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) - Seminole District rivals Jefferson Forest and E.C. Glass battled again Thursday night with the Region 4D title on the line.

After battling to a 25-all tie at the half, Glass took a seven-point lead after the third quarter. DreSean Kendrick scored the final two baskets of the period, Hilltoppers led 40-33 entering the fourth.

Back came the Cavaliers, Perry Warner's shot is in and out but Jordan Richeson muscles the rebound and puts it in, two of his 17 on the night.

Later, Austin Stevens bombs in three of his team-high 19 and JF is puttin' on the heat as close as three!

But Zaykeese Brown followed his own miss with a huge stickback in the final minute to run the lead to 6.

Anthony Williams led Glass with 19, Kendrick added 13.

E.C. Glass wins 55-47. Both teams advance to state tournament action next week.

Roy Roberson, E.C. GLASS HEAD COACH , said "One of the things we just talked about in the lockerroom. We certainly didn't do everything right but we play the game with effort and passion. So compliments to the kids and it's always great when you are rewarded for the journey."

Words were exchanged in the handshake line after the game and emotions spilled out with fans involved. The gym had to be cleared before Glass was awarded the trophy, with the Hilltoppers later cutting down the net.
