E.C. Glass athletes shine in 4A Track & Field

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) - The E.C. Glass boys track team had a strong outing Saturday at Roanoke College, finishing as state runner-up in the Class 4 Track & Field Championships.

Senior Emmanuel Waller won the 55 hurdles and 300 dash, setting a new meet record. Teammate Theo Woods, a junior, set a state meet record in winning the 1,000-meter run. Woods and Waller also ran legs on the 16-hundred state champion relay team. And Glass' Taliyah Wade won the shot put.

Emmanuel Waller, 55 HURDLES, 300 DASH, 4x4 RELAY STATE CHAMP, said "It's really paid off, lifting and running all the time, it's what I've been doing. And eating right, also eating right. That all worked out for me."

Theo Woods, 1,000 METER RUN, 4x4 RELAY STATE CHAMP, said "That's what I've been working towards all year, practicing, grinding, just to get back at it and to have another shot. And it felt amazing when I crossed that line."
