Appomattox rolls over Rustburg 42-18

Appomattox, VA (WSET) - Two-time defending state champion Appomattox extended its winning streak to 32 games with a 42-18 win over neighboring Rustburg Thursday night.

With Appomattox up 7-0 in the first quarter, Javon Scruggs finds Brian Perkins for the 14-yard score as the Raiders extended their lead to 14-0.

Later, Scruggs finds Drew Mann over the middle for another touchdown, 21-0 Appomattox.

Rustburg's offense got going in the second quarter, quarterback Landon Tucker hit Grayson Harvey in the end zone to cut into the lead.

But Appomattox was again too strong, Omar Bailey scored two rushing TDs the first half.

The Raiders took charge early and don't look back, Appomattox is off to a 2-and-0 start this season.
