Overstreet, Davis talk about state semifinal matchup

MONETA, Va. (WSET) - Two of the state's top running backs face off Saturday in the Class 3 state semifinals when Staunton River plays host to Heritage.

Staunton River's Grayson Overstreet owns VHSL career records for rushing yardage, touchdowns, total points and the single-season scoring mark.

Elijah Davis of Heritage has broken the state single-season record for TDs, he's now got 55 this year. And with Overstreet playing on offense AND defense, it's a matchup everybody's talking about.

Grayson Overstreet, STAUNTON RIVER SR. RUNNING BACK/LINEBACKER, said "I guess it's a cool matchup because I guess you can say, both really good running backs. He's a great player himself, runs hard, good athletic kid so it's gonna be cool, you know, watching my offense, you know, and his offense and seeing the differences."

Elijah Davis, HERITAGE SENIOR RUNNING BACK, said "I've been seeing on Twitter and stuff like everybody is comparing us. So that's why I'll be off my social media this week. So I'm just getting ready to play."
