High school football practices begin throughout the region

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) - Thursday was the first OFFICIAL day for area teams to hit the gridiron, but most squads have already been working together much of the summer in preparation for season openers in just less than a month.

The Heritage Pioneers have gotten in at least a couple of practices each week and have their basic drills in on offense and defense.

Brad Bradley is back for his sixth season at Heritage, his 20th overall as a head coach.

Brad Bradley, 6TH-YEAR HERITAGE HEAD COACH, said "You know there's no other place to be in the end of July, middle of August, September, October, November or hopefully December than coaching football. You know I've got a great group of kids, I consider myself the luckiest man in the world."

Our Football Friday 2-a-day previews begin a week from this Monday, August 7th.
