Summary: It's year 20 of coaching for Brad Bradley, his 6th guiding the Pioneers. After an exciting run through the playoffs that ended at the hands of eventual champs Blacksburg, Heritage is reloading for a deeper run this season. They'll return star running back, and ABC-13 Football Friday 'Player of the Year' finalist Elijah Davis for his senior season. Davis wowed the Pioneer faithful one year ago, running for more than 2,700 yards and 41 touchdowns.

Coach Bradley is also looking at a QB competition in camp. Senior Carrington Anderson is back after going down with an ACL injury, he's competing with junior Jabari Blake, who transferred to Heritage, after starting for Northside one year ago. The added depth at QB should help bring a more balanced attack to the Pioneer offense, an area that was lacking in 2016. With an increased focus on playing four full quarters of football, the pieces are there for another deep run into the postseason.
