Summary: For the third straight season, the team that defeated the Bees went on to win the state championship (Northside/2014, Magna Vista/2015, Blacksburg/2016). Bees QB Tanner Bernard is back for his senior season, and will have great protection from a line with more depth than a year ago. The running game, with senior Dre Carter and sophomore Ryan North, looks to benefit with an improved line, as well. The one area lacking from the 2016 squad was the defensive tenacity coach Meeks and his players are working on in training camp this year, having given up late points in their few losses last season. With a renewed focus on shutting down the opposition, and a penchant for putting points up in a hurry, 2017 could finally see Brookville break through the 2nd round of the playoffs, and play some football in December.
