Summary: It’s a great time to be a Raiders fan, as Coach Doug Smith’s squad is the hottest in all of Virginia – 30 straight wins, 2 straight state championships. Last year’s team scored a staggering 680 points (most in school history). Sr. Javon Scruggs is back as QB, while Drew Mann and De’Von Graves both step up to be the primary targets. Several key players from last season have graduated, particularly at RB and LB. Several rising underclassmen are preparing for their chance to fill those roles. Depth is no problem, but experience is. You can bet Coach Smith will focus on working the new starters hard, to help them succeed once the regular season begins.
