Summary: Despite graduating a strong senior class, the Lancers have plenty of talent returning, led by senior quarterback and linebacker Keshon Turner. Amherst will be young and inexperienced at several positions, including linebacker, where the Lancers will have new starters across the board. Head Coach Cecil Phillips says discipline will be the Lancers' focal point.

He says the Lancers were penalized 26 more times than their opponents last year with a difference of more than 320 yards.

Amherst also had a minus-6 turnover ratio, Phillips says that's got to turn around in order for this Amherst team to take the next step and advance farther in the playoffs.
