INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WSET) — The University of Lynchburg baseball team will host Shenandoah in an NCAA super regional at the Bank of the James Stadium beginning Friday, May 26.
The winner of the three-game series will book their ticket to Cedar Rapids, Iowa for the eight-team NCAA Division III baseball championship.
Lynchburg and Shenandoah play Game 1 at 12 p.m. on Friday, May 26. Game 2 begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, and a third game will take place 45 minutes afterward if Lynchburg and Shenandoah split the first two.
Lynchburg previously hosted an NCAA regional at Bank of the James Stadium in 2022. The stadium is home to the Lynchburg Hillcats. Tickets will be available on TicketSpicket soon.
Lynchburg earned its 12th NCAA tournament appearance after winning the 2023 Old Dominion Athletic Conference championship, and Shenandoah earned an at-large bid into the field.

In the Rocky Mount regional, Lynchburg won its first two games and advanced to the championship. After dropping the first game Sunday to Lebanon Valley, Lynchburg bounced back and won 5-3 to punch a ticket to the super regional.
In the Winchester regional, Shenandoah dropped its first game but rallied for four-straight victories including two on Sunday over Christopher Newport.
As of Monday, Lynchburg is ranked sixth in the d3baseball.com top-25 poll, and Shenandoah is ranked third.
Lynchburg and Shenandoah will square off for a fifth, sixth, and maybe seventh time in 2023. Lynchburg currently owns the season series with a 1-1 record in the regular season and a 2-0 mark in the postseason during the ODAC championship. Lynchburg put up 11-straight runs in a comeback victory over Shenandoah to win the ODAC trophy 11-9 on Saturday, May 13.
