Just 10 days ago, Liberty and Virginia Tech's men's lacrosse teams battle into double overtime at Lynchburg City Stadium for the ALC conference title.

Now, each team is just one win away from playing each other for an MCLA national championship.

Virginia Tech, #1 in the Division One tournament, has made quick work of their opponents so far -- 19-3 over #16 Michigan State, and a 17-6 win over #8 Utah Valley.

Liberty, meanwhile, has taken their #3 seed in Division 1, and vigorously defended it, in a 15-12 win over #14 UC-Santa Barbara, then in a thriller over #6 Georgia 11-10. The win over UGA was highlighted by a buzzer-beating goal from Cooper Branham, who turned and fired a laser under the crossbar for the game winner.

On Thursday, #1 VT will play the #4 seed Chapman. Later, #3 Liberty will battle #7 Concordia.

Should both teams win Thursday, the Flames and Hokies would play each other in the finals on Saturday afternoon at 12:45pm.
