LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) - Liberty Flames Hall of Famer Katie Feenstra Mattera is returning to her alma mater as a women's basketball assistant coach.

Liberty's first Division One All-American in 2004 and '05 went on to play five years in the WNBA and several years overseas.

She served as head coach at Cornerstone University in her hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan for six seasons and was an LCA girls assistant this past season.

Feenstra was the first-ever three-time Big South Player of the Year.
