As the postseason award nominations roll in for the #11 VMI Keydets football team, coach Scott Wachenheim's team is back at work, in preparation of their FCS playoff opener at JMU on Saturday.

The SoCon champ Keydets posted a perfect road record, complete with an OT win at Samford, and last minute heroics at Wofford.

Still, few outsiders are giving VMI much of a chance against the Dukes, who come in with plenty of FCS Playoff experience, while the Keydets have none to date. Still, Wachenheim says his team isn't treating this preparation any differently, saying "I think every game is a playoff game. Usually, you have to go 7-0, 8-0 to win a conference championship and qualify for the playoffs. So I don't think the intensity or nature of the game will be any different. I mean, the Citadel game, being a rivalry game is intense, and players get psyched up for that. .I just don't feel it's any more or less pressure than any other game."
