NEW RECALL: Nearly 12 million pounds of raw beef recalled due to salmonella concerns


    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A large ground beef recall has now been expanded to included nearly 12 million pounds of ground beef.

    The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) says JBS Tolleson, Inc. has recalled another 5.1 million pounds of various raw, non-intact beef products that may be contaminated with salmonella newport.

    In October, more than 6 million pounds of ground beef was recalled.

    The raw, non-intact beef items, including ground beef, was packaged between July 26, 2018 and September 7, 2018.
