2 children shot in Ohio neighborhood found wounded on front lawn
DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - Dayton Police say two children were shot this morning and found in the front yard of a home in the 3800 block of Lori Sue Avenue in west Dayton.
Dayton Police Sergeant Eric Henderson gave an update to reporters on the scene shortly before noon. Henderson isn't releasing information yet on who shot the children, but he did say a third child involved is safe. Medics were called to the scene just a few minutes after 10:00 Thursday morning.
The ages of the children are not being released at the time, but Sgt. Henderson says they are younger than 10. He says the kids were found by people passing by the home who called 911. It's not clear how long the children had been laying in the front yard before they were found. Henderson said the children were taken to Dayton Children's Hospital where their condition is unknown.
Police say it's early on in the investigation and they will continue to give updates as they learn more information.
