Danville man fatally shot in apartment parking lot

DANVILLE, Va. (WSET) — A Danville man was found shot in the parking lot of an apartment complex late Wednesday night.

Danville police responded to the 1300 block of Piney Forest Road around 10:50 to find Darick Lamont Richardson, II, 23, lying in the parking lot between the F and K buildings. Richardson had been shot multiple times.

Richardson was taken by air to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where he died Thursday morning.

Police are still working the incident and haven't released any information about a suspect.

DPD asks any residents of the Woodside Village Apartment community and those who live nearby to please share any surveillance video they may have.
