Winter Lights along the Bluffwalk underway in downtown Lynchburg
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- The second annual Winter Lights Along the Bluffwalk got underway Friday night.
The displays feature local artists, and provide a different way to enjoy the Bluffwalk and Downtown Lynchburg.
Each piece has a different theme.
The kicker with this event is that all the lights used in every display are old Christmas lights.
The lights are obtained in a variety of different ways. Including donations and some that have just been dug out of the trash.
Lights turn on at dusk and stay on through 11 p.m. on weeknights. Friday and Saturday they stay on til 1 a.m.
Cash prizes will also be awarded to the winners that you choose. The James River Council for the Arts and Humanities will announce the winner February 15, you can vote here for the winners through February 14.
The lights will be up through February 18.
