"We can do a lot with very little." Compassion Experience visits Danville

DANVILLE, Va. (WSET) - A Danville church is working with Compassion International to help rescue children out of poverty, worldwide.

Their traveling exhibit, the Compassion Experience, is at Union Church until Monday. It's an interactive, free walk-through to see what kids in poverty go through and how Compassion helps.

At the end of the walk-through, you can choose to sponsor a child for $38 a month.

"The world is much more connected than we realize it is and that we as Americans have been blessed considerably even though we like to complain about it. We can do a lot with very little, to change somebody's life forever," says Adam Cook, the senior pastor at Union Church.

More than 1,400 people are registered to do the walk-through. Walk-ins are welcomed, but you would have to wait in line.

Union Church hopes the Danville community can help sponsor 500 children.
