CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WSET) - TIKI Brand has responded to the protest that involved their torches.

On Friday, August 11, hundreds of white nationalists took to UVA's campus ahead of the Unite the Right rally on Saturday.

The statement, released Saturday says:

TIKI Brand is not associated in any way with the events that took place in Charlottesville and are deeply saddened and disappointed. We do not support their message or the use of our products in this way. Our products are designed to enhance backyard gatherings and to help family and friends connect with each other at home in their yard.

The rally on August 12 turned deadly when a car ran into a group of pedestrians, and then hours later, a Virginia State Police helicopter crashed.
