Four arrested, body found in connection to missing Pamplin woman


    Keelyn R. Codynah, 23, of Spotsylvania, Va., Robert P. Keating, 25, of Spotsylvania, Va., and David W. Newton, 20, of Fredericksburg, Va., have each been charged with one count of accessory to murder.

    KING GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WSET) -- Virginia State Police has arrested and charged two men and a woman in connection with the discovery of remains in King George County.

    Keelyn R. Codynah, 23, of Spotsylvania, Va., Robert P. Keating, 25, of Spotsylvania, Va., and David W. Newton, 20, of Fredericksburg, Va., have each been charged with one count of accessory to murder. All three are being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

    Human remains were discovered at different locations in the Fairview Beach community of King George County Saturday, July 21 and were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Richmond for examination, autopsy, and positive identification.

    The remains and these arrests are being investigated in connection with the disappearance of Megan L. Metzger, 19, of Pamplin, Va.

    Juan Benavidez, 19, of King George was arrested around 1 a.m. Friday and charged with one felony count of arson of a vehicle after Metzger's vehicle was found burned Thursday.

    The incident remains under investigation. Additional charges are pending consultation with the Spotsylvania County Commonwealth’s Attorney.
