Strong storms, with possible tornado warnings, expected Friday
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- Strong storms are expected to develop across our viewing area Friday.
In a small area, along and near the front of the storm, a tornado warning or two could be issued for any storm that develops - highest chances are west, south, and east of Lynchburg including Roanoke, Bedford, Smith Mountain Lake, and Charlotte County.
Storms are expected to be in the area between 3 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Main threats include heavy rain, with possibly flooding, and damaging winds.
On Saturday, high temperatures are expected to top out in the mid-80's with scattered showers and storms.
It's not expected to rain all day, but you might want to have a backup plan to outdoor activities.
By Sunday we’ll see highs back in the upper 80's to near 90 with lower rain chances.
