Sheriff's office: Shooting Monday poses no threat to Charlotte Co. community


CHARLOTTE Co., Va. (WSET) - The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office says there's no threat to the community after a shooting Monday afternoon.

Officials were dispatched to a crash around 3:15 p.m. that involved property damage but said the car involved was not there.

They say deputies found a car matching the description at a home on Whites Chapel Road.

The sheriff's office say they found a man with a gunshot wound at the scene.

His body has been taken to the Medical Examiner's Office in Richmond for an autopsy.

The sheriff's office continues to investigate this incident.
