Sheriff's Office: Alleged social media threat against Tunstall High is isolated
PITTSYLVANIA Co., Va. (WSET) -- The Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Office said it's investigating an alleged social media threat that was alleged to be against Tunstall High School.
Deputies and investigators along with the Pittsylvania School administrations quickly identified the allegations, according to the sheriff's office, and determined it to be an isolated social media incident and said they feel confident no students are in danger and there is no ongoing threat.
The sheriff's office said it's gotten many calls from parents and guardians wanting to pick up children and students earlier than normal.
They said they can't make that decision and have advised parents they have to make that determination.
At this time, the Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Office said it continues to investigate the origin of the social media threat and will talk with the Commonwealth's Attorney about any charges.
