Sheriff: Multiple arrested following home invasion in Amherst

AMHERST Co., Va. (WSET) -- The Amherst County Sheriff's Office says they made several arrests related to a home invasion assault on Sunday.

They say deputies responded at around 1:30 a.m. to 959 Warrick Barn Road in Amherst for two victims that had been assaulted by multiple suspects.

According to officials, upon their arrival, deputies determined that a male, 27, and female, 34, had suffered minor injuries after subjects had forced entry into the residence. The victims were treated at the scene.

They say there were also three juveniles in the home at the time. They were unharmed.

Officials say based on the investigation, the following individuals were arrested and charged with Breaking & Entering, Assault & Battery, and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor: James William Gunter, 37, Timothy Wayne Burks, 34, Jessica Ann Barnham, 29, and Rebecca Nicole Cash, 29.

They say all were released on various bonds.
