Police: SunTrust bank robber, with wig, arrested at local hotel

Roanoke County Police said the suspect in Thursday morning's bank robbery has been identified as Schanon C. Weaver, 33, of Roanoke.

They said he was located at a local hotel later in the afternoon and charged with robbery and grand larceny.

Police said officers recovered $400 of the approximately $1,700 he took from the bank.


ROANOKE Co., Va. (WSET) - Roanoke County Police are looking for whoever robbed a bank Thursday morning.

County officials say the robbery was at the SunTrust on Williamson Road and Peters Creek Road in the Hollins area.

The call came into dispatch at 9:05 a.m. Thursday.

They say the robber, who did not show a weapon, was able to get away with cash and ran off.

Police say the robber was seen getting into a darker black Dodge Charger, possibly a 2005-2010 model.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.

Police are investigating.
