Roanoke Police searching for 2 men accused of assaulting restaurant worker

ROANOKE, Va. (WSET) -- Police are searching for two men, after they reportedly assaulted a female restaurant worker and fled the scene.

At around 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Roanoke Police responded to a restaurant on the 2000 block of Peters Creek Rd after receiving a call of an assault.

According to the restaurant manager, two men cam into the restaurant and stole a fountain drink.

When they were confronted, the men started to become disorderly.

The manager kicked them out of the restaurant, but the two suspects continued to hang around the building outside.

One of the two men assaulted a female restaurant employee who was near the building.

She sustained minor injuries that didn't require medical assistance.

By the time the police came, the two men had left the scene in a white or silvery Mercury.

The suspects are described as both being black males, with one of them having tattoos on his arms and legs.

The case remains under investigation.
