LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — On Saturday, more than 100 patients, residents, and employees at Heartland HealthCare Center in Lynchburg received their COVID-19 vaccine.
Heartland partnered with CVS Health for the CDC’s Pharmacy Partnership for Long Term Care Program to make the vaccine available to their staff and residents.
“My hope with the vaccine is to be able to have the opportunity to not only protect myself and my family but protect the patients and the population that we serve," Delisa Rogers, Director of Rehab at Heartland said.
Heartland Lynchburg is one of the first skilled nursing care facilities in our area to distribute the vaccine.
Amanda Waller is the Director of Nursing, and she says getting this vaccine is like a light at the end of a tunnel.
“This just gives us hope," Waller said, "Hope that there is an end, hope that we can go back to normal.”
