Pulaski, VA - Pulaski police are updating ABC 13 about an officer-involved shooting on Tuesday.
They say Officer A.M. Abdelaziz started checking the Pulaski Storage lot around 1 a.m. and found 46-year-old Robert Frost sitting in the front seat of a truck, apparently asleep, with a handgun in his lap.
They say Abdelaziz called for help right before Frost woke up and started shooting.
Police say the officer also shot three times to try and stop Frost.
That's when they say Frost opened the truck door and fell to the ground.
Crews took Frost to the hospital where he later died.
His body is at the medical examiner's office.
Frost's family told police he had been struggling with PTSD and emotional depression after returning from Operation Desert Storm years ago.
They also say Frost told them when he went, he would make police kill him.
Officer Abdelaziz was not hurt and is on administrative leave pending an investigation.
