Public hearing to be held on Rivermont Ave rezoning

An empty building in Lynchburg is causing a lot of controversy in the Rivermont district.

There will be a public hearing in the decision to rezone a building on Rivermont Avenue Tuesday.

During the hearing, the public will have a chance to give their input on what to do with the old seven hills school before the council makes up their mind.

The old school building is currently vacant and the property owner wants to turn it into a 22-unit apartment complex.

Those against the rezoning say that many people could create problems and take away from the historic experience.

The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. in City Council Chamber, 900 Church Street.
