Police: Woman taken to hospital after crashing on Route 29 Expressway
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- A woman has been taken to the hospital after a crash on the Lynchburg Expressway Wednesday.
Lynchburg Police said a 47-year-old woman lost control while driving on Route 29 S between Stadium Road and Odd Fellows Road around 11:30 a.m.
They said she ran off the right side of the expressway and hit a guard rail.
Police said she was trapped inside the vehicle for about 20 minutes.
She was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital and is expected to be okay.
There are traffic backups on the road past the Kemper Street exit ramp.
