Police: Woman facing capital murder charges in 2017 double homicide in Danville
DANVILLE, Va. (WSET) -- The Danville Police Department said a woman has been charged with capital murder in connection to a double homicide last year.
Police said a grand jury issued indictment against Amanda Lynn Willhite, 35, last week for the murders of Kelly Fears Wrenn and Ashley Lauren Joy Jones in January 2017.
Willhite is charged with two counts of capital murder, first degree murder, and robbery.
Kelly Wrenn and Ashley Jones were found dead in a home Wrenn shared with Willhite on Wrenn Drive around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2017.
According to the Medical Examiner, Jones and Wrenn were stabbed to death.
Willhite had gone missing after the incident, but was found at a hotel in Jacksonville, North Carolina by Danville Police investigators on January 10, 2017 where she was charged with an unrelated drug charges and remains in custody there.
She will be extradited back to Virginia at a later date.
