Police: Two women arrested after traffic stop on Route 460

BEDFORD, Va. (WSET) - Bedford Police say they stopped a vehicle traveling east on Route 460 Friday just after midnight.

They say the driver, Brenda Carroll, was driving erratically and made an improper lane change.

Bedford Police say four people were in the car.

Police checked Carroll's license plate and found it was suspended, according to the DMV.

She was arrested, charged with driving on a suspended license, and taken to jail.

Police say one of the passengers, Lottie Miller, had stolen goods, marijuana, and narcotics, and was wanted on an outstanding capias from Lynchburg.

Miller was arrested, charged, and taken to jail.

Bedford police say their investigation revealed the stolen goods were from the Walmart in Bedford, and worth over $760.

The police department says the investigation is ongoing and more charges are possible.
