Police: Small plane crashes on runway in Henry Co., no injuries

HENRY Co., Va. (WSET) -- Virginia State Police are investigating a plane crash on the runway in Henry County.

Police say it happened at 4:10 p.m. Monday. They say a Cessna 170 single engine aircraft was landing when it pulled to the left.

Police say the pilot applied the brake and the aircraft’s landing gear failed..

State Police say there were no injuries to the pilot and were not told there were passengers on the plane.

The runway was closed until the plane could be removed. Police are not releasing the pilot's name, origin or destination at this time.
