Police: Driver had medical emergency before hitting 5 parked cars outside school


    PITTSYLVANIA Co, Va. (WSET) -- Virginia State Police said at least one person has been taken to the hospital after a multi-vehicle accident outside an elementary school.

    Police responded to a car accident at the entrance of Kentuck Elementary School in Pittsylvania County around 10:50 a.m. Thursday.

    They said six cars were involved in the crash.

    Police said a truck was traveling on Route 729 when it ran off the road and hit give vehicle in the parking lot of Kentuck Elementary School. The five vehicles were not occupied at the time of the crash.

    The driver is believed to have had a medical emergency before leaving the road.

    The 57-year-old man was not wearing his seatbelt and was taken to the hospital with a life-threatening condition.

    The driver has not been charged at this time.
