Police: Two armed men wanted for 42-year-old's murder in Roanoke

    The Roanoke Police Department said it has obtained warrants in connection to Michael Jackson's shooting death from Friday morning.

    Shannon Lewis Walker, 29, and Derrell Jamar Jones, 28, are wanted for second degree murder.

    Police said they believe the two men are armed.

    Anyone with information on where the two individuals are is asked to call 911 immediately.

    UPDATE: 11:25 a.m.

    The victim of the homicide on Burrell Street has been identified as 42-year-old Michael D. Jackson of Roanoke.


    ROANOKE, Va. (WSET) -- Roanoke Police said an officer was patrolling in the 300 block Orange Avenue NW when a gunshot was heard in the area Friday morning.

    They said at around midnight, it was reported that there was a subject in the 1600 Block Burrell Avenue that had been shot.

    According to police, an adult male was located in the parking lot of the LT Store with a gunshot wound.

    Roanoke Fire and EMS responded and transported the male to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 12:40 am.

    Police said it appears that the victim and two males began a verbal altercation inside the store and the confrontation continued to the parking lot.

    Detectives and Forensics Investigators are collecting evidence and conducting interviews.

    They said it is unknown if there is a relationship between the victim and the two males.

    According to police, not arrests have been made at this time.

    Identification of the victim will be made after notifications have been made.
