Police: 61-year-old Danville man dies after crash in local business' driveway


UPDATE: 7:34 p.m.

State police have identified the driver as 61-year-old Charlie Lewis Coleman.

Police say Coleman was not wearing a seatbelt and ran off the left side of the roadway, into a median and crossed the eastbound lanes.


PITTSYLVANIA Co., Va. (WSET) -- A man has died after a crash near South Boston Highway in the driveway of a local business.

You can see the front end of a truck all smashed up at Milam's Equipment Sales in Sutherlin.

The Ringgold Fire Chief said a 61-year-old man was the only occupant of the car and has died.

Officials said the man was traveling west on South Boston Highway, crossed the median, and hit the brick pillar in the driveway of Milam's.

VDOT said delays are possible on Route 58 east near Routes 62 and 726 due to the accident.
