Police: Motorcyclist taken to hospital after colliding with van
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- The Lynchburg Police Department along with the fire department responded to the intersection of Main St. and Walnut St. for an accident involving a van and a motorcycle around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Police said the accident caused the driver of the motorcycle to be ejected.
He was taken to Lynchburg General with potential life-threatening injuries.
Police said its investigation has revealed that the motorcycle was driving west on Main St. when it collided with the van as it was turning left from Main St. onto Walnut St.
Main St. was closed for approximately one hour during the investigation, and has since been reopened.
The Lynchburg Police Department Traffic Unit is continuing to investigate the crash.
