Police: Man robbed while responding to online sex ad

RADFORD, Va. (WSET) - A man is behind bars after police say he robbed a man responding to an online solicitation ad.

Radford Police say the incident happened Wednesday around 5 p.m. in the 200 block of Heather Glen Drive.

According to police, a 42-year-old man reported being robbed while trying to respond to an online ad soliciting sex.

Police say the victim was supposed to meet the solicitor.

According to Radford Police, Lorenzo L. Clements, 33, of Shipman, robbed the victim, taking his wallet, ID, credit cards, and $150 in cash.

Officials say no weapons were used in the robbery, but the victim did have injuries on his face that required medical treatment.

Clements is charged with one count of robbery and is being held without bond in the New River Valley Regional Jail.
