Charleston International Airport is back to normal after a 'suspicious package'

UPDATE: 7:48 a.m. - Charleston International Airport has resumed back to normal after reports of a 'suspicious package' early Friday.

People flying out of this airport are expected to see some delays and lines.

"We took all the precautions in the world. Safety is always our first priority. We don't want to take any chances," said Airport Exec. Director Paul Campbell.

The suspicious device and the person involved have been sent to the Charleston County Police Department.

So far, the suspicious package is unknown and still under investigation.


CHARLESTON, Sc. (WSET) - Charleston Police are investigating a suspicious package at Charleston Airport Friday morning.

People were evacuated from the airport and are waiting for further instruction from officials.

No further details have been released at this time.
